Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pay my rent each month and what types of payment methods are accepted?
Zelle is the preferred payment method. If this is not possible, alternative arrangements can be made.
When and how will I get the access to the crash pad?
Check-in instructions will be sent via text and will arrive via text on move-in day. Most homes have a keyless entry, and you will be given a personalized code.
Where can I find the exact address of the crash pad?
For security reasons, the exact address will be provided once a tour or deposit has been made. All of our properties are within 2 miles of the airport.
How can I tell if my room is private or a shared room?
Please read the description carefully. We do not have bunk beds in our rooms, and there are never more than 2 beds in a room. If you would like a private room and one is not available, however, both beds in a given room are available at the same time, one person may pay for both beds to make that a private room.
Do you require a security deposit? First and/or last months rent upfront?
No, we do not take or hold onto a 'security' deposit or first/last month's rent. HOWEVER, we do take a NON-refundable deposit to 'reserve' the bed as confirmation of your stay. The $150 deposit will then count towards your first month's rent (due in full by the first of each month).
How much notice do I have to give you when I am ready to move-out?
A 30-day notice, from the first of the month before your move-out date, is required once you are ready to check out. Move-out notices must be submitted in writing.
Can I live full time in the crash pad?
Absolutely not. Crash Pads are less expensive and considered different than regular apartment rentals for a reason. Crash Pads originated from a need for airline industry professionals who commute to their base or are on call, requiring temporary housing before or after their shift. Our crash pads are designed to feel like home to all renters, while still maintaining a clean, hotel-style, temporary accommodation.
What are the rules?
General Rules Include: no pets, no smoking, no overnight guests, same-sex occupancy, and shared cleaning responsibilities. A full list of crash pad-specific rules will be provided/posted on-site.
What types of neccessitites does the landlord provide?
We provide: bedding (sheets, blanket, pillows), toiletries, bath/hand towel, shower caddy, common living essentials (iron, vacuum, mop, cooking supplies), and even a coffee maker with pods! A full list will be provided upon move-in. When supplies run low, tenants can fill out a restock form for easy resupply.
Is there a late fee?
Yes, there is a late fee for rent received after the first of the month. Currently, the late fee is $25. After the 7th of each month, you will incur an additional $25 late fee per week. After two weeks of delinquent rent, you will be held responsible for the late rent and asked to leave immediately.
What do I do if something isnt working properly?
Please fill out the "MAINTENANCE REQUEST FORM" on the website. If this is an emergency, for instance, if the air conditioner, heater, electricity, or plumbing is not working, please call the main number you were given at check-in. Only fill out a maintenance request form if this is something that can wait at least 24 hours to be fixed, for example, a closet door fell off the track. Anything else that needs immediate attention should be called in.
What are my responsibilities in terms of cleaning and upkeep?
Each tenant is responsible for cleaning up after themselves. It is a collective effort among our tenants that keeps our crashpads clean and well-maintained. Once a month, a cleaning service is provided as a supplement (not an excuse) for cleanliness. More information about specific cleanliness will be provided upon move-in. Each tenant is responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Our goal is to make our tenants feel as if they are staying in a hotel each time they enter our crash pads. Which translates into, no personal products are to be left in the bathroom at any time. Each person will have their own shower hook located in their bedroom closet, and each person's shower caddy must be stored in either their bedroom or the hall closet immediately after each use. Both bathroom and kitchen counters should be wiped after each use, trash should be taken out daily, kitchen utensils should be washed and stored immediately after use, and floors should be vacuumed if you drop something or see that they are dirty. A full cleaning service to the shared areas is provided one time per month for each crash pad. It is up to the tenants to keep the crash pad clean (and feeling like a hotel) for the remainder of each month. This also means that all personal products should be stored in each person's space in their bedroom. It is not ok to have jackets hanging on the backs of chairs or a pile of shoes by the front door. Although we do encourage a shoes-off policy, please store them in your personal space once they have been removed.
